Mr. Charles E. Martin, was the general contractor for a log home we built near Angel Fire, NM.  It was constructed in 2002-2003 out of hand hewed round logs.  Chinking was used to seal the space between the logs.  The house is 4000 sq ft. on three levels.  It has multiple complex roof lines and a separate garage.

Mr. Martin was involved in all aspects of the construction from the beginning to the end of the project.  His knowledge and experience with log construction is unsurpassed.  He is a professional carpenter able to solve the most difficult construction problems.  The work done by him and his crew of carpenters is outstanding.  Mr. Martin was on the job every day working with his crew and overseeing the subcontractors.

He hires the best qualified subcontractors in the area.  They are mostly people he has worked with before and knows their work is superior.  All subcontractors, suppliers and crew were paid on time.   I am aware of no exception.  With this payment history he is able to retain the best people available for his crew and subcontractors.  In addition, suppliers provide preferential treatment.

His responsibility did not stop when we took possession of the house.  He continues to monitor the house and responds quickly to any request for repair or adjustment.

Mr. Martin is hardworking, conscientious, honest and professional.  He is also a pleasure to work with.  He told me before we hired him that he only builds one way, and that is the same as he would build for himself.  That turned out to be true.  He is not the least expensive, but if you want quality Mr. Martin is your general contractor.
